Meet Belle, Award-Winning Author

Belle has a lifetime of experience in dance and choreography. She is the founder and director of Tap N Time, a seated tap and rhythm class designed for seniors with programs tailored to individuals with dementia and physical disabilities. She previously operated Belle’s School of Dance for 25 years and founded VERVE Dance Co.

Her creativity shifted to writing in her sixties, when she began receiving ‘downloads’ during her walks in nature. “Write your story,” whispered over and over in her head. So, she did. Her memoir, Echoes in the Mirror, was published in 2020. It was both a healing and cathartic journey and a reminder of her strength and tenacity, even as a young child.

Belle lives in East Providence, RI, with her cherished Redbone Coonhound, Trista, and a peaceful, easy feeling.

Belle’s Writing Journey

Belle’s memoir ignited a desire to share authentic stories centered on women’s lives. Drawing from her own experiences and a deep curiosity about the human spirit, she found her voice in women’s fiction, which often explores spiritual and inspirational themes.

With the writing dam opened, Belle’s creative juices continued to flow. Treading Water, book one of her trilogy, was awarded Finalist for Best First Novel by the Next Generation Indie Book Awards 2022.

Belle went on to write The Heart of Addisen, book two that year, before a different set of characters joined her on a walk and introduced themselves.

Her novel, The Lesson, received the International Impact Award for Women’s Fiction 2024 and was a finalist in Inspirational Fiction at the American Fiction Awards. Belle’s latest work, The Prince of Addisen, the third book in The Treading Water Trilogy, is a Silver Award Winner in Women’s Series in 2025.
